Calls Appearing From (904) 236-4800

November 1, 2023

At NestTenders Property Management, we prioritize trust and transparency as much as we focus on providing exceptional property management services. We are reaching out to our community regarding a matter that recently came to our attention and that we take very seriously: our phone number is being used in call spoofing. We want to explain what this means, how it affects you, and the steps we are taking—and you can take—to handle this situation.

What Is Phone Number Spoofing?

Phone number spoofing is when a caller deliberately falsifies the information transmitted to your caller ID display to disguise their identity, and it's a growing problem. In simpler terms, it's like someone wearing a mask to look like someone else. Spoofers often mimic phone numbers from trusted local businesses, neighbors, or even friends, increasing the likelihood of their calls being answered.

Why Should You Be Concerned?

While spoofing can sometimes be used for legitimate purposes (such as by doctors using their personal phones to call patients but displaying the office number), it is often used for illegal or deceptive purposes. The spoofer may try to sell something, scam individuals out of personal information, or conduct other fraudulent activities.

How Does This Affect You?

If you have received an unsolicited call that appears to be from NestTenders, please be aware that it is not from our company. We never engage in outbound sales calls, cold calling, or solicitations. Moreover, NestTenders operates exclusively within Northeast Florida—if you're receiving a call outside of this region, it's a clear sign of spoofing.

What Can You Do About Unwanted Calls?

  1. Do Not Disturb: Use your phone's "Do Not Disturb" feature to allow only calls from your contacts to ring through.
  2. Call Blocking: Utilize call-blocking services, which your phone carrier or third-party apps can offer.
  3. Don't Engage: If you receive a suspicious call, do not engage. Hang up immediately if you suspect spoofing.
  4. Report the Call: File a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) at fcc.gov/complaints. They can take action against illegal callers.
  5. Verify Independently: If a call claims to be from a business but seems suspect, hang up and call the business back using a verified number.

NestTenders Commitment

At NestTenders, we value our customer's and community's safety and peace of mind. We are working with our telecommunication partners to resolve this issue and prevent further inconvenience. Additionally, we want to reaffirm that our commitment to serving the local Northeast Florida community remains our top priority. We do not operate outside this area, and any communication suggesting otherwise should be deemed suspicious.
